About
Algo Au is a dance artist from Hong Kong, also based in London. He graduated with first-class honours from the London Contemporary Dance School at the University of the Arts London. Since 2015, Algo has worked professionally as a dancer, instructor, and choreographer across a wide range of dance companies, universities, and commercial projects.
Notably, his choreography for the University of Hong Kong (HKU) won the championship at the Inter-Varsity Dance Competition in 2019, and in 2025 he choreographed the 1st runner-up piece for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.His teaching portfolio includes leading studios such as SDZ in Hong Kong, Base Dance Studios in London, and Artist
Dance Studio in Tokyo.
In addition to his work in dance, Algo has ventured into the theatrical field. Most recently, he choreographed and performed his own work at the British Museum and Whitechapel Gallery, participated in a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and also appeared in a live performance at M+ and developed a structural improvisation work at West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong.
